This is the most incredibly painful wing sauce I have ever tasted.
Whiskey Dick’s is located in Columbus, OH, the hotbed of wing activity in
the Midwest. Originally famous for BW3’s in the 80’s, Columbus is best known
now for the Quaker Steak & Lube location on Polaris Parkway.
We found Whiskey Dick’s on the internet, then sought out the location to try
their famous Viper sauce.
Whiskey Dick’s is a large bar and entertainment facility. They violate the
rule for having great wings and limited seating. There are many pool tables
available, along with a dance floor and stage for live entertainment.
They run a special on Tuesday’s, where you can get 3 wings for a dollar,
along with $4 pitchers of Natural Light.

With the utmost confidence, we placed our order and waited. When the wings
arrived, we were disappointed to find large, turkey-like pieces, coated with a
breading and a bright red sauce. On the first bite, we felt the heat crossing
our taste buds, along with a lack of flavor. The bartender checked on us and we
managed to say that we were OK, although we could tell that something special
was going on here.
After a few pieces, we realized that the heat didn’t really kick in until we
stopped eating. We nervously finished our order of six and quickly headed out
the door.
After a few minutes, our ears were ringing and our eyes were watering. Our
throats were sore from the experience, and the heat level continued to mount.
After 30 minutes, we were still suffering the effects of the sauce. Lord knows
what tomorrow morning will bring. We’re not sure if putting the toilet paper in
the freezer will help this time.
Whiskey Dick’s Viper wings were an incredible experience. We’re not sure if
we would do them again, as we didn’t care for the breading or the over-sized
wings, but the sauce was something else…
