At first glance, Clucker’s looks too clean-cut to be a great wing joint.  The inline building is so clean and neat, and the tables literally sparkle.  We usually like our wing joints a little rundown, and Clucker’s is very new and fresh.  Once we stepped inside, we were immediately greeted by the friendly servers and our most terrific experience began.

Clucker’s is a true sports bar, with plasma TV’s in abundance.  The bar is located at the back of the dining area, and there’s enough neon on the walls to make us feel right at home since we didn’t see any NAZCAR stuff.

The menu is extensive, ranging from appetizers, sandwiches, salads (fortunately, no pasta salad), quesadillas, boneless wings, chicken finger baskets and of course, the wings.  Clucker’s always uses fresh wings, never frozen, and if you ask for extra crisp they really know how to get it right.  If you order a 10 piece wings and fries, it will cost about a dollar a wing, which is probably a good value in today’s wing market.  We recently checked in on Café Hot Wing 8 – the best on the planet, and their lunch special is up to $6.99 for 10 pieces, so Clucker’s is definitely in the game.

There are some very unique menu items listed, and we did not get a chance yet to try the hand breaded asparagus, fried pickles, fried banana peppers, fried jalapenos, monster mozzarella sticks, hand-breaded cauliflower, Clucker’s Mini Chicklets (4 mini chicken sandwiches), portabella wedges or onion rings.  The chicken finger baskets sound really great too, as they are hand-breaded and freshly prepared.

Sauces are listed as Sweet Thai Chili, Honey BBQ, Teriyaki, Spicy Hot BBQ, Spicy Garlic BBQ, Buffalo Honey Gold, Hot & Sassy Garlic, Cajun, Jalapeno Chipotle, Mild , Hot, Hen Hot and Cluckin’ Inferno.  We ordered naked wings with cups of Hen Hot and Cajun Inferno on the side.  We also ordered the fries to be extra crisp.

Clucker’s follows our principles in cooking the wings in that each order is cooked strictly to order and is NOT prepared ahead of time.  You expect to wait about 15 minutes for a properly prepared wing and Clucker’s gets it.

The wings arrived at the table and we found them to be perfect in every way.  The sauces were delicious, and the Cluckin’ Inferno was just that.  This sauce can be a serious challenge for the most experienced wing eater.  We flooded the area with tears of joy!

The only down side to the experience was only getting 2 pieces of celery with the order.  You can get extra celery for an additional price, but we expected at least the same number of celery stalks as wing pieces ordered.

The other negative was the crinkle-cut French fries.  They are listed as crinkle-cut fries on the menu – we just prefer a higher grade potato as our side item.

Service was magnificent!  We will definitely be back to Clucker’s with our friends!
