Remember the recipe in the BIG SPRING WING FLING issue of the WingazetteÒ Magazine for Three Ulcer Wings? Dante Vespignani submitted this recipe, and our thanks go out to him for a superb contribution.

Of course it is our civic duty to put all recipes received to the test, so we went to work in the WingazetteÒ Magazine kitchen recently to give this one a try.

Preparation was surprisingly easy and fun. Cooking the wings on the grill is a real pleasure, especially for the WingazetteÒ Magazine cleaning staff, since there is very little clean-up involved with the grill.

The results of the recipe are a beautiful sauce, rich in color with a marvelous consistency. The entire presentation of the finished product is a sight to behold.

The flavor is magnificent!!! These are some of the most interesting wings we've ever tasted. It is really difficult to describe the taste – it’s somewhere between sweet and sour and hot, but none of them dominate the total taste.

The heat level is certainly acceptable, even for the experienced wingeater. Dante’s letter described them as filling a need for the weak of stomach, but you could have surprised us since we have to admit we were expecting real wimpy wings.

Not so at all! These babies do have some zing to them, but of course they are gentle on the stomach, as the name would imply.

Quality and value are never questioned on a recipe at the WingazetteÒ Magazine kitchens. Those of you who have been fortunate enough to visit and sample the wares can attest to that.

The total result of our experiment was a very high finish for the THREE ULCER WINGS. They are assured of placing well in the TURNER’S OPINION POLL.

As a result of this fine finish, WingazetteÒ magazine has issued a special certificate of achievement to Dante Vespignani. Not only did he submit the first recipe for wings to the magazine, he turned in a recipe that will stay in our files for continuous use for years to come.
