At the first Kentucky Region points event, I decided to dust
off the 944 Turbo to see how it would handle the autocross course.

After pumping up the tires and strapping on the helmet, what I learned is
that the 944 has way too much horsepower and far too little grip. We slid
through the corners, losing time while waiting for the straights to
reappear. Since I was only able to improve my time during five runs by 2.5
seconds, you can look for the Subaru to reappear at the next event.
The modifications under the hood put the car into A Street Prepared, a class
where it really can't be competitive. My Dunlops didn't do me any favors,
being much too hard for effective autocrossing. I do have to admit to a
serious adrenaline rush coming out of the last corner and across the finish
line!
My special thanks to Dr. Walter I. N. G. Shrevemont for the photography!
